Resource Abuse Policy

Crucial technicians constantly monitor our shared web servers for accounts that use more than their share of server resources. When resource usage abuse occurs all clients on the web server suffer, so Crucial has implemented the following shared hosting resource usage policy to protect our clients:

  1. CPU usage may not exceed 20% on any account.
  2. RAM usage may not exceed 15% per account.
  3. Active HTTPD connections may not exceed 100 per account.
  4. Single file size limit is 256 MB per file.
  5. Inodes are limited to 50,000 per account.
  6. Email is limited to 500 outbound messages an hour per account.
  7. IMAP is limted to 5 total connections per IP address.
  8. Proxy sites, torrent and file servers, and copyrighted material is prohibited.
  9. You may not use this space for personal storage, backups, remote file serving, or any other service unrelated to web hosting.

These resource allocations have been determined by Crucial to be far more than sufficient for any shared host.

Suspended accounts should immediately contact the billing department. Accounts that choose not to upgrade their shared hosting to dedicated hosting will be given the opportunity to download their files within 48 hours of the suspension.

The account will remain suspended until such time that traffic has subsided or abusive scripts have been disabled. After this time, FTP access will be granted to remove files.

If an account is in violation of our Resource Abuse Policy, the account will be suspended. A second failure to comply with this policy will result in a $50.00 service reactivation fee. A third violation will result in the termination of your account. Any account that violates our hosting policies forfeits the right to a refund.
